Saturday morning. Three cardboard boxes on the workbench, all shipped out yesterday, all returned this morning. I picked the 25cm MOLLY Chip 'n Dale, the 40cm Labubu in Space, and the 85cm Holiday Labubu — one for the desk, one for the shelf, one for the floor. The window behind me lets in late-morning light at about 30 degrees. Same acrylic, same factory, same week. The only thing that changes between them is the height. So I lined them up on the bench, switched each ring light on one at a time, and watched what the height actually buys you.

The 25cm Chip 'n Dale — the one that fits on the desk

The 25cm case is the one most people start with. You set it on the desk, the figure sits right at your eye level, the lamp turns on, and you're done. The Molly figure has those huge cartoon eyes — when the ring light is on, you can see a thin white line reflected in each iris. Like a little mirror, switched off and on as you toggle the button. The autumn-forest UV background sits about 10cm behind the figure, and the colors stay readable even when the light is on. No glare, no uneven wash, the cheek detail on the figure doesn't dim.

The lid weighs almost nothing. You pop it off with thumb and index finger, drop the figure in, snap it back. The whole thing fits in a small paper bag from the courier if you ever need to move it. $33.90 for the no-background version, $45.20 with the UV forest, $67.80 with the ring light on top, $90.40 for the solid wood ring-light upgrade. Most people stop at $67.80 and never think about it again.

The 40cm Labubu in Space — the one that goes on the shelf

The 40cm case is where the price jumps. Same 3mm cast acrylic sheet, same 98% transparency rating, same 2cm wood-grain base, but the box has more volume and the LED ring has more surface to light. $67.80 for the no-background, $79.10 with the deep-space UV, $101.70 with the ring light, $124.30 for the solid wood version. The Labubu in Space figure is dressed in a purple astronaut onesie, hood up, eyes wide. The UV background behind it is a dark cosmos — rocket launch, lunar surface, stars, the words "THE MONSTERS IN SPACE" running across the back panel.

This is where the photo on the product page starts to matter. On the 25cm case the UV is a colour wash, an accent. On the 40cm case the UV is a scene. You see the rocket. You see the moon dust. You see the title type. The figure and the scene are at the same scale. The Shop sign that runs across the back is readable from across the room — about 1.5 metres away on the shelf. If you had the 25cm case doing this same scene, the words would be too small to read at 1.5m. The height and the depth together give the UV room to breathe.

The 85cm Holiday Labubu — the one that lives on the floor

The 85cm case is the one we don't sell very often — but the people who order it don't go back. The Holiday Labubu figure is the bright-red Christmas version with rabbit ears, a wide grin, and sharp little teeth. Behind the figure the UV background is a Christmas village — green trees, gold string lights, gift boxes wrapped in red and gold, a soft snowfall pattern across the top. $180.80 for the no-background version, $203.40 with the UV, $226.00 with the ring light, $248.60 for the solid wood upgrade.

The first thing you notice on the 85cm case is the lid. You don't pop it off with your thumb and index finger the way you do on the 25cm. You put one hand on the front panel, one hand on the top panel, and lift the top panel up and back — like opening a chest freezer. The top panel alone weighs about 600g once it's off the base, and it sits up at chest height for anyone under 5'8". If you have the figure out for cleaning, you set the lid against the wall behind you, not on the table beside you. There is no room on the table.

The second thing you notice is the switch. On the 25cm and 40cm cases the switch is on the side panel about 5cm up from the base — easy reach. On the 85cm case the switch is on the bottom side panel, where the wire comes out. You have to crouch down or kneel to turn the light on. It feels like a different product. Same factory, same acrylic, same LED strip, but the geometry of using it is different.

The third thing — and this is the one nobody tells you until you've had the case for a week — is the figure's reflection in the acrylic. Because the box is taller, the figure is taller in the frame, and the lid reflection has more distance to travel before it bounces off the base. On the 25cm case the top lid reflection sits right above the figure's head, sharp and obvious. On the 85cm case the reflection has softened by the time it gets back to the figure. The figure looks like it's standing in open air, not in a glass box. It's a small thing, but it's why people who collect the big figures always end up buying the big case.

What's the same across all three

Across the 25cm, the 40cm, and the 85cm, the basics don't move. Every case is cut from the same 3mm cast acrylic sheet, 98% transparency. Every case has the same 2cm wood-grain base. Every case snaps together with the same tongue-and-groove corners — no glue, no screws. The UV background panels come off the same printer, so the colour depth and the resolution are identical across the line. The ring light is the same LED strip, the same warm-white tone, just mounted in a heavier frame on the bigger cases.

The differences are size and price. The 25cm is $33.90 to $90.40. The 40cm is $67.80 to $124.30. The 85cm is $180.80 to $248.60. Three price ladders, same materials, same factory line.

If you want a custom size

The 25/40/85cm covers most Pop Mart figures we've shipped. If your figure doesn't fit — and a few don't, especially the larger Labubu Sitting and the Molly Anniversary pieces — we cut custom sizes free. You give us the length, width, and height of the figure, and we add 3cm on length and width, 5cm on height, to leave room for your fingers when you take the figure out. The non-standard size costs the same as the next standard size up — no custom-size markup.

For the UV background, send us a photo of where the box is going to live. A dark wall wants a light background, a light wall wants a darker background. Send the photo, not the figure — we don't need to see the figure to match the wall. Files at 1MB or higher work best; below that the print looks soft. We don't print Pantone codes — we colour-match to a screenshot.

The solid wood ring-light upgrade adds $20 to any case and weighs about 0.8kg more than the PVC version. The wood sits denser, so if a courier sets the box down a little too hard at the door, the frame holds its corner while the inner hinge takes the shock. The acrylic doesn't flex, and the figure doesn't shift inside. Same LED strip, same warm-white tone — just a heavier frame around it.

Where they ended up

The 25cm Chip 'n Dale went home with the desk. The 40cm Labubu in Space went onto the bookshelf, second shelf from the top, where your line of sight catches it the moment you sit on the sofa. The 85cm Holiday Labubu is on the floor by the front door, with a small rug under the base so the wood doesn't scratch the laminate. Three sizes, three rooms, three prices. Same sheet, same line, same shop.

If you want to see the full size list or order one custom-cut, browse the Scoparius showcase line or message us with the figure dimensions and we'll send back a quote the same day.
