I ran the numbers on the small-format cubes last Tuesday. The Pop Mart Zsiga Pondering Love case is 20×20×25cm — 5cm shorter and 5cm narrower than the 25×25×35 default that carries most of our Pop Mart volume. It still runs four panels and one base, like every other cube. But the cutter’s math changes: a 1220×2440mm cast-acrylic sheet yields six 20×20×25 cases and leaves a 170cm offcut strip; the same sheet yields only four of the bigger cubes with a 130cm offcut. The small cube wins on yield, on shipping weight, and on desk space. Here’s how those three numbers land in a real Pop Mart collection.

The 20×20×25 Zsiga Pondering Love box is the smallest ring-light case we currently ship, and the lit photo of it on a dark marble shelf tells you why the small format still works for a ring-light build. The LED strip is concealed in the top frame edge — you see the glow on the white hair, not the bulb itself. The ring runs cool-white, not warm-white, because the UV behind the figure is already a warm red-pink. Pairing a warm UV with a warm bulb would push the white robe into sepia; cool light reads as white against the warm background. For Pop Mart, where the figure palette is dominated by soft pastels, this color-temperature contrast keeps the figure from melting into the panel behind it. The mirror floor doubles the lit silhouette — the red hearts at the figure’s base reflect up, and the white hair casts a quiet halo around the matte black base.

Take the same case unlit. The UV back panel alone carries the Pondering Love theme: hand-drawn “ZSIGA” lettering up top, scattered red hearts in two sizes, peach-pink wash around the figure, and a few scribble marks that read as pencil-on-paper rather than printer ink. The press runs that back panel at twice the resolution most factories use, because at standard press settings the hand-drawn text loses the irregular pen-pressure that makes the lettering read as handwritten. Below the doubled-resolution mark, the letters start to look like a font. Above that mark, the pen-pressure wobble holds. For a 20×20×25 panel that small, every pixel is roughly 0.4mm wide at that press setting, and you can see the irregularity without a loupe.

Drop the UV entirely, and the case becomes the simplest version: $67.80, four transparent panels, one matte black 2cm raised base, one mirror floor sheet. The figure becomes the entire visual. On a figure like Zsiga Pondering Love — pale white hair, white robe, single red heart doll — the mirror floor doubles the visual weight of the figure without printing anything. The matte black 2cm base lifts the floor 2cm off the shelf, so the reflection doesn’t disappear into the surface. Lay the case flat on a wood table, and the figure reads as one-fifth shorter because the floor and the table become the same tone. Lift the floor by 2cm, and the mirror layer reads as a separate plane — the figure reads at full height.

For the ring-light variants — $101.70 with PVC and $124.30 with solid wood — three engineering moves matter. The push-pull door runs on a hidden rail in the right edge, no hinge pin, and the door parks inside the rail so it doesn’t swing out toward you when you open it. The door stops inside the frame when fully open, so the case width stays at 20cm even when the door is out. The LED strip sits in a routed channel in the top frame edge, so the diodes point down into the case, not outward at your eyes. The 10mm PVC base in the standard ring-light variant is a foam-and-paper composite; the 12mm solid wood in the premium variant is one piece of natural hardwood, hand-sanded at the corners so the wood meets the acrylic at a clean 90° without visible glue. The price difference between the two variants is one material run plus a hand-sanded edge; the engineering inside the case is the same. If you line two of these cubes side by side on a 50cm shelf, the 20cm footprint of each leaves 10cm between cases — enough room for the right-side push-pull door to slide fully open without bumping the neighbour.

Custom size math on a 20×20×25 cube is straightforward. The base footprint is 20cm × 20cm; we can hold that footprint to ±2cm per axis without changing the panel layout. The 25cm height has a bit more room — you can drop it to 22cm if your figure is shorter than 22cm, or extend it to 30cm if you want a half-inch of air above the figure’s head. Each axis that moves adds about $5-8 to the price; the wood variant scales proportionally. Above 32cm height, we have to switch to a thicker top panel to keep the case from racking under finger pressure on the door. Below 22cm, the slide-open door geometry changes and the rail moves to the bottom edge.

For the UV background, send a 1MB or larger image at the original aspect ratio. The press runs at twice the resolution most factories use, and below that, fine text starts to pixelate. For color matching, send us a wall photo in daylight; we adjust the print temperature slightly to match the wall tone in the proof, so the panel reads as part of the room rather than as a sticker on it. Red UV on a black acrylic back panel saturates the hue and deepens the shadow falloff; red UV on a white back panel lifts the same red toward orange. Most Pop Mart owners prefer the black backing for the deeper hue, but a bright room with white walls reads better with the white backing — saturated red against a white wall can read like a frame around the figure rather than as part of the room.

For the figure, Zsiga Pondering Love is about 18cm tall in the seated pose, so the 25cm interior height gives roughly 7cm of air above the head. That’s the right ratio for a 1:1 desk-scale display — too little air and the figure reads as crowded, too much and the case reads as a box with a small object inside. The four-tier pricing lands at $67.80 (No Background), $79.10 (With Background), $101.70 (ring light + With Background), $124.30 (Solid Wood ring light + With Background). Each is built on the same cutting table, by the same hands, with the same 3mm cast acrylic — the figure isn’t included, but the protection and the presentation are the same across all four.
